So I'm just getting back into ant keeping and was wondering if you guys could help me id this ant I found under a rock in my garden.

Definitely a queen, particularly one in the genus pheidole.

Yeah it looks like there are a lot of pheidole ants in my area.

Get a better lighted pic and I’ll send it to my friend to have it IDed to species. Also where was it found.

Is it just me or does it look like she has little bumps on her body? Like mites

It does look like that. I saw somethimg once where the workers eclosed and ate the mites but it seemed very chance based.

Both of them are tetramorium immigrans

In case it wasn’t clear, OP’s queen is in the genus pheidole, while these other queens are crematogaster

I don't know why I've been so bad at ID's on this forum. I can usually id a species with about 80-90 percent accuracy.

As of now I have IDed about eleven species. I misidentified 2 of them. That gives me about a 82 percent success rate. The 80-90 percent I said was a rough estimate since i havent seen that many species in person.

That's not even enough ids to call yourself good at id. Not trying to be rude but just saying.

I was just saying that I was being realistic when I said I was correct about ID's 80 to 90 percent of the time. I know that I am still a newbie at anting I was just making a comment on how I made a pretty large mistake relative to other times I tried to find the species.
