Hi !

I have been breeding ants for the last ten years, with a few interruptions. I am a member of a French ant geeks forum, but I recently wondered "How do they keep ants in other countries ?". And since I speak English better than German or Spanish, I came here to see if you do things differently.
Please don't ask me if I actually eat frogs and snails, I don't ^^.

I currently have several European Formica, Messor and Camponotus colonies . They are all small, since I just started back ant breeding.
Please do not hesitate to correct me if I misuse a word ! (I don’t have any vocabulary concerning ants in english).

Nice meeting you  =)

Welcome!  :D

We have noticed that there seem to be some striking differences in ant keeping in different locations.  Sometimes it depends on the species in question.  Sometimes the setups are quite different, although some of those differences may be due to materials available in certain areas.

Have you noticed any large differences yet?

Looking forward to seeing your colonies and setups.

I haven't noticed any major difference yet, I love your Camponotus novaeboracensis colony by the way =) But I didn't have the time to look deeply yet.

Do you actually easy frogs legs and snails over there? :P

Welcome! I've browsed some of the German and Russian forums myself and I definitely noticed some differences. I'm excited to hear what differences you notice.

Very cool, welcome to the forum. We'd love to hear what you may do differently as well! Sounds like you've probably got a lot of experience to back it up too.

You've never tried escargot? I had it on a cruise once, it was delicious. Very soft and buttery.

@BrittonLS I tried, it tasted good, but  in my opinion, it's only because of the sauce, not because of the escargot ^^.

Thank you for your messages. =)
