What kind of nest do you prefer? 


I keep: C. modoc, C. sansabeanus  :D, C. maritimus, Formica argentea, M. mexicanus  :D, Odontomachus brunneus :D, Pogonomyrmex californicus, Pogonomyrmex rugosus,

What kind of nest do you prefer? 

I like THA, great quality, but really expensive.  


 Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?

There are so many fascinating ants right were you live!

I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that are not found in your area.

Anything I make. Ok, I like my own nests but that likely won't be accepted as an answer and being cocky. My favorite nests are Arthropod Antics nests or THA. I'm not a fan of the controversy that THA has been in though.

I guess you could expand your answer to be more specific. Like what type of nests do you like to make? Plaster/Ultracal type of nest, dirt boxes, etc.

Plastic just isn't for me. It doesn't really look natural with the ants in my opinion. I prefer horizontal gypsum or plaster nests, like from THA (although I honestly don't have one) or sellers like UndergroundCiti on Etsy.

I guess you could expand your answer to be more specific. Like what type of nests do you like to make? Plaster/Ultracal type of nest, dirt boxes, etc.

 

Hydrostone nests.

None of the above. However I'd say TarHeelAnts leads overall.
