Hi,
I live in Oakland county Michigan, and I was wondering around what time of year I should out my ants to hibernate. Also, I would like to know the approximate temps required for hibernation for lasuis species.
Thanks

ok thanks
Not long for ants in Michigan.Kind of long. I'd recommend taking out in February. Jamie did it for her Lasius latipes and they did fine.
October to March would be a good timeframe. 40-50 F would be a good temp. Read the Lasius neoniger care sheet on here for specifics.
Yes it’s still pretty cold here In February. Still snows a bit. Even snowed once in April this year.
Three months of hibernation is good enough for most ants in captivity.
