Formica pallidefulva-group. Probably F. pallidefulva, maybe F. incerta.

I didn’t think pallidefulva group were found that far west. Perhaps its a neogagates group species?

I've really been itching to invest in a good dissection/binocular microscope for many years... maybe now is the time. according to antweb F. pallidefulva is commonly found in CO

Well i guess i learned something new today. I didn’t think pallidefulva was found that far west but according to antmaps it is. Your queen definitely looks to be F. pallidefulva.

Agreed on pallidefulva. I don't believe incerta is found so far west (and this queen also lacks their mesosoma stripes).
