I was feeding my lasius crypticus colony flightless fruit flies. but they are super difficult to culture and always escape. There aren't any guides on Lasius Cripticus diet here, so I was wondering which foods they liked/disliked, and which insects I should use instead of fruit flies for protein.

For fruit flies, I put a few flies in a ziplock bag then freeze them for 30 minutes then put them into the test tube. LL09ITQ.mp4

Also Lasius Crypticus is the same care for any other claustral Lasius, they look, act, and do the same things. My Lasius crypticus love friut flies and are not a big fan of super worms. You can try moths or earwigs you catch outside (make sure you put them in boiling water before you feed in case they have mites), test out different insects and see which they like best.

Get joshes frogs containers and culture. Works a charm. Toss the fff you want to use in a separate container, freeze, and bon appetit
