I will try to get a PPQ 526 in August, I Probably will only get a couple of species. Colobopsis will not be long to get approved right?

Since Camponotus yogi is quite similar to ltos of Colobopsis sp.

Trachymyrmex will probably be easy as well. Since they is just 1 state north.....

There is no need for guessing. It’s either native to your state or they’re not. No and, if, but, or. If they’re non native, you HAVE TO get have approved “facility”. What that is depends on your state. Each state has their own aphis personnel.

Edit: also, DO NOT put non native species with native species on the same permit. APHIS would either reject the whole thing and tell you to split them or they may push it through with specific rejections. They go through different process and why it came be on the same permit.

Keeps: Camponotus, Tetra

Wants (Please reach out if you have them for sale if you’re in the US): Acromyrmex Sp., Atta Sp., Cephalotes Sp., Myrmecocystus Sp (Prefer Mexicanus), Odontomachus Sp. (Prefer Desertorum), Pachycondyla Sp., Pheidole Sp (Prefer Rhea. The bigger the better. Not the tiny bicarinata), Pogonomyrmex Sp (Prefer Badius)., Pseudomyrmex Sp. (Prefer the cute yellow ones)

I hope to get permits soon. Problem though is I'm in a phase where I'm moving from one house to another soon so in a few months if I get a house that I know for sure I'll be in I will file permits for all Camponotus species native to Michigan.

I doubt if its only for personal use(don't quote me on this) but if resale you probably will need a inspection

I don't dream of selling Trachymyrmex. It would be terrible as you have to ensure optimal conditions during shipping, and i don’t want to hear anyone complain about fungus growers not arriving alive.

Yeah, half the people who buy fungus growers through the mail complain about how badly they ship.

I keep: C. modoc, C. sansabeanus  :D, C. maritimus, Formica argentea, M. mexicanus  :D, Odontomachus brunneus :D, Pogonomyrmex californicus, Pogonomyrmex rugosus,

There is only really one sp. I want right know and that would be Camponotus sericeiventris. I’m sure that even if I did have a permit shipping conditions would definitely not be ideal.

What is the point of these permits? Are they needed just for collecting ants, or are they needed to sell them?

All plant pest (which include ants) must have permits if moving across state lines

Basically you can’t bring any ants to another state without them.

I'm surprised they didn't even deny a single ant species on there. You are asking for WAY too much WAY too quickly. Go slow. Just get permits for your main ones because if you do a huge one like that and they deny even just one of the species you'd have to redo the whole permit process again and wait a long time again for their approval.

OP said it was denied. APHIS sometimes do deny specific articles but its quicker to do a whole permit denial when the list is that long. Also, they just want it split because OP probably has native and non native on it. They want those two separate.

Can confirm 18 is the minimum age. It's in some obscure place of the USDA or APHIS site but I promise its there.

So that means no permits for under 18 people?
