I may be trading for a Pheidole colony with P. senex (hosts) and P. inquilina (parasites). The only problem is that information regarding the care of Pheidole inquilina is largely nonexistent. Right now the current colony has about 6 senex queens and a good amount of senex brood and workers with majors and minors. There is 1 inquilina worker and 10 queens in the colony as well (pretty standard for inquillina which can get up to 3 workers per colony). Unfortunately the inquilina queen count seems to be steadily declining. Does anyone know any tricks to encourage the inquilina to create more queens? Both species should be able to interbreed. I'm thinking the health of the parasites is just a function of how the hosts are doing overall.
