Collected at 10:30 am walking on driveway

Pogonomyrmex californicus. They are having their flights right now

Not too sure how you distinguished this from the other species in the area with the picture they sent.

Flight time maybe? Do similar species fly at the same time as P. californicus?

P. mohavensis is a possibility, it is thought that P. mohavensis flight times occur during this time of year.
