1. Location of collection: Big Bear, CA
2. Date of collection: 7-16-15
3. Habitat of collection: Pine and Oak Forest
4. Length (from head to gaster): 7mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: redish brown head and gaster with a darker thorax
6. Distinguishing characteristics: active

This is a parasitic Lasius species. You should give it some host brood.

I don't have any to do that.  Any recommendations on what to do?

But if she really is what I think... She really will get nowhere without some host workers and brood...

Are there any Lasius where you live? They're everywhere here,My Lasius cf. aliensus queens even accepted brood from a parasitic Lasius species.
