I have a colony of C. ca02 and recently they went through a large die out leaving the queen with a small bundle of brood and one worker. I was in desperation of keeping this colony alive so I asked some angers for advise and they suggested brood boosting with Camponotus vicinus or semitestaceus brood. I of course took this and did it immediately. I grabbed two cocoons from one of my semitestaceus queens and another cocoon from one of my vicinus queens. I was hoping that atleast one of those species would be excepted by the colony and to my hopes the following day the 2 semi workers hatched out and were getting along well with the queen and bio worker (to this day they are fine with each other) and about 2 days later the vicinus cocoon eclosed and to my delight all 3 species were getting along. To this day (about 1 week after the original boosting) they are still getting along and I believe the ca02 colony is getting better.
