For things like scorpions, beetle grubs, wasps, termites, etc. Should be a sub-forum like Off-Topic Journals, probably should be placed right under Off-Topic Journals.

Sort of hard to understand. So your idea is like a off topic journal... Please explain?

Edit: I just saw the title. Sort of confusing without it. My view is that a lot of people here specialize in ants, and have little experience with other invertebrates. I think that an id should go to a better place such as arachnaboards.

we don't get a lot of IDs that aren't ants, sometimes here and there but not enough to confuse the ID subforum.

Well, the sub forum would probably already be larger than the Off-Topic Journals sub forum so why not?

It might actually be larger than the OT journal subforum  . You can ask Dsp to add one if you like doubt it would be much of a change. haha

I'm pretty okay with Identifying things like Social Wasps, and Dermestidae beetles. I'm also willing to take a crack at others.

The only reason the "Off-topic Journals" subforum was created, is because there was a problem a while back with people wanting to delete other members' posts. The solution we were working towards, was having this as an option ONLY on threads within either of the journal subforums.

Well I think for the same exact reason you need a separate off topic journals, so people can do that like in normal journals, you should have an off topic ID threads so you can mark things solved.
