Get a colony to stare at and feed until that queen gets nanitics. If you have something to look after you will loose focus of the other.

Put a lock on your queen and give the key to someone else for a week and then you get it for a day and then give it back. Repeat until nanitics appear.

Tell yourself that the queen will die if you look at it. If you give yourself that stress you will want to limit that stressor
Currently: Considering moving to Australia
Reason: Myrmecia

I check on my queens every couple days and when I first started I checked daily. I was always gentle and never had a problem. 95% of queens I've captured have laid eggs and had workers. Go easy on Formica though. They're real skittish and don't like being disturbed. I keep them in my sock drawer if you can believe it. It's warm and easily accessible.

Good luck.
