I think I have a rough idea. I'm very curious to hear if I'm right and more detail. Did the best I could on pics without a macro lens. Not bad for my phone I think.
Really appreciate the good work you all do. Thank you.

1. Location of collection: Suburban yard, Wesminster (Metro Denver), Colorado, US

2. Date of collection: 2022-05-14

3. Habitat of collection: Back yard concrete porch. Suburban high prairie.

4. Length: 10 - 11 mm

5. Coloration, hue, pattern and texture: Redish thorax, darker head, and black gaster. Shiny and sparse hair.

6. Distinguishing characteristics: No noticeable petiole nodes, large convex eyes. I believe there are 11 antenna segments.

7. Anything else distinctive: Pretty quick but not twitchy. Climbs well.

8. Nest description: Unknown.

9. Nuptial flight time and date: Unknown. Caught with wings off and wandering.

10 . Pics aplenty.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).
