Formiculture.com Etiquette

I present to you all, "Formiculture Etiquette." A simple guide to having "Proper Etiquette" or "Manners" around the forum.

NUMBER ONE

"Rating" a Post or Topic  on formiculture.com to a "negative rating" due to having personal feelings about the individual who posted it is just distasteful. While I hope that nobody is getting butthurt enough to be upset by a "one star" rating that is not relevant in any shape or form, I believe some of us very much enjoyed the topic. It's not eye pleasing to see someone negatively rate posts when one of our fellow members put their time and effort into showing us something we all like to see.

NUMBER TWO

Replying to a thread that contains media of some sort is very frequent on the forum since people are always sharing pictures or videos of their colonies. We all love to see it, but what we don't love to see is someone responding to that thread or "quoting" that thread in their own comment whilst still leaving the media in their reply. Please remove the "media" from the quote in your response or comment to avoid making people scroll through the same pictures we just scrolled through. This is especially important in "Photography threads."

NUMBER THREE

"Arguing" or "drama" should not happen on posts or threads visible to the entire community. We happen to have a "personal messenger" feature on the forum where you can talk directly to the individual you are "beefing" with. And I know exactly what all of you are thinking. "T.C. is always participating in drama." So my reply to you is this... You are 100% correct. However I am no exception to the manners. I too am struggling with this "manner" and would like to think in due time I will no longer feel the need to get butthurt on a thread about something so irrelevant.

NUMBER FOUR

Formiculture is one of the best sources of information on the internet. If you google search a question related to the hobby, it will likely bring you straight to this very forum. Please be mindful and keep that in the back of your head as you reply to threads regarding questions, journals etc. You don't want to comment a one word response, irrelevant response, a inaccurate response, or grammatically off response as it's all documented for thousands of people to view.

NUMBER FIVE

Vendors of formiculture should refrain from "bashing" or "attacking" other vendors. This is a small hobby where we should all respect one another. This isn't Walmart vs Amazon. Not myself or any other ant keeping "company" here will ever make any significant profit from the hobby or be listed on NASDAQ in the future.

~That is all for now. Please feel free to add.

Now is this for comical effect or is this meant to be taken serious? I took it as comical when I read it, but that probably isn't what you wanted.

Its supposed to be a light hearted, comical, but serious reminder. If your too serious some people might get offended.

EDIT: Someone rated it 1 stars. The emotions on this forum  B)
