She had shed her wings, laid eggs, then ate them, so pretty sure she is. I've added it to the post.

She had shed her wings, laid eggs, then ate them, so pretty sure she is. I've added it to the post.

There's a chance she is and that you just have not been keeping her in the right conditions, but it's highly unlikely she is based on hearing that.  Sounds more like a dud to me as good queens don't typically do that.  Shedding wings does not mean they're always good.

I honestly think it's my bad. I have another rugosus colony I'm in there that has workers, so I might have opened the drawer they were in too much. I'm pretty sure that she's fertile, she seemed to have the eggs in the pile and was caring for them well. I also noticed she laid a singular egg when I took her out today.

I'm pretty sure that she's fertile, she seemed to have the eggs in the pile and was caring for them well. I also noticed she laid a singular egg when I took her out today.

Have you been feeding her? Maybe she hasn't been eating enough protein.

The species is fully claustal, so I don't think she needs it. She probably still has stored food. Maybe I'll try feeding her though, it should help

I treated mine like semi. My rugos didn't do anything for months. Did what yours did. Kept eating the eggs. I said, [censored] it. I have nothing to lose. I gave them nectar and water and watched them drink the nectar for 40min straight. Boom. Eggs! Now they are my 2nd largest colony in my collection. I did noticed that they havent been interested in nectar since though. I think they now use seeds for carb.

It would probably help to drop a few seeds in, she'll eat them if she wants. Small and soft seeds like dandelions and bluegrass would be easy for her to crack open.
