Well, the thing is in Florida they are difficult for me to find as Solenopsis invicta invade and kill them all.(They are enemies)

The war of invasive species lol. There are argies everywhere here.

I have heard! It’s like replacing all the RIFA down south with argies, as RIFA spread so fast as they have multiple queens and spread thousands of alates each year. Not to mention the sting… hey, but at least the native pyramid ants take care of male RIFA’s and winged alates.

What are RIFA's?

RIFA is an acronym for Red Imported Fire Ants (Solenopsis invicta).

Yeah, sorry I should have done RIFA(Red imported fire ant(Solenopsis invicta). A lot of people who don’t have RIFA in their area don’t know what it stands for.

That is always disappointing, quick question, in Cali where do you find Pogonomyrmex? Trying to find P. Badius, no luck.

I know this wasn't for me but, usually on hotter days on some soil or sand. In Cali *at least where i live* their pretty common but I usually don't bring test tubes when I find them

I caught them on a relatively hot day in Lakewood, CA. It was around 85 that day. The best spots to catch this species is on a dirt or sand trail where there are pogonomyrmex workers. @Lazyant is right

Pogonomyrmex subnitidus back. They were misidentified as californicus before, because they are so simular.
