Hi!
I live in Southeast Michigan, and I am looking to capture a pavement ant or lasuis niger queen. I am aware that it may not be time for them to fly yet, but I just wanted to know the conditions required for them to fly. I tried looking online but that was no help.

I don't think you will be able to find Lasius niger in Michigan but a close relative Lasius neoniger you should be able to find flying in August. Tetramorium (Pavement ants) fly in the summer mainly July.

I found a pavement ant queen this morning. Get out and go look in the early am.
