has anyone tried travelling interstate with ants? i finally managed to catch a queen ant about 3 weeks ago however I had to leave her in South Australia because wasn’t sure if I could bring her to Victoria. She doesn’t have any workers yet so i’m not too concerned about my family’s ability to care for her but I would like to bring her to Victoria once I go home and leave again (i live interstate for university). This is a lot of information but basically any tips for travelling with a non invasive local ant to south australia and victoria? thanks 😅

I mean, as long as she doesn't escape everything should be fine. But to university, won't it take a couple of weeks to come back home?

Unlike in the US, in Australia it is completely legal to transport ants across most state lines. The only exception is with Western Australia and Tasmania, where a permit is required.
