Hey, I've decided to make a journal on all my colonies, any questions I'll gladly answer, and I'll probably need some help along the way too😅. But without further-a-do, here's my first update!

~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
April 25th 2022

Camponotus Semitestaceus-
These girls are doing really good, the queen has started pumping out lots of eggs recently 20220425_171746.jpg
The main brood pile is looking pretty good, alot of the larvae has turned in cocoons, and there is 36 workers 20220425_171940.jpg also I found a deflated lookin larvae and the workers started eating it(I guess that's one way to recycle food)20220425_171929.jpg here's the link to the original journal https://www.formicul...al/#entry209973I've also decided to name the queen Taceus totally not because it's the last 6 letters of semitestaceus;) ;)

~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
Liometopum Occidentale-
I bought this queen a little bit ago and she only came with one pupa (which already hatched)and a larvae, but she also laid a couple of eggs since then.20220425_184005.jpg I've never raised this sp. to workers before so any tips on them are welcomed(all I really know is that they grow fast) they have 16 workers20220425_184129.jpg I Am also looking for queen suggestions for her :)

~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
Tetramorium immigrans-
This is a 2021 colony that I got round Julyish I've never really had any interest in them until recently, they have a pretty big brood pile and the queen just laid a pile of egg 20220425_185235(0).jpg
They have about 45ish workers and are continuing to grow 20220425_185047.jpg I am also looking for name suggestions for the queen too

(Also I have all of these colonies on heat)
That pretty much wraps up this update, cya👋

Very cool! When people say that L. occi grow fast that is an understatement. They grow extremely fast and while I have little experience with them I’ve heard from others that they can have first generations of upwards of 50 workers, maybe even more.

Currently: Considering moving to Australia
Reason: Myrmecia

Camponotus semitestaceus

This colony has just had a major growth explosion. Mostly all of their cocoons have hatched, and the queen is laying tons of eggs(not very visible in the pics)20220504_200206.jpg 20220504_200140.jpg
They now have 46 workers

•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
Liometopum Occidentale
Not much to update other than they have a huge egg pile20220504_195650.jpg

•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
Tetramorium immigrans
Nothing to update

Camponotus semitestaceus
Doing really good they laid alot of eggs, most of which are already larvae but some of the larvae (not visible in pics) are looking pretty big, hoping for majors :)

20220517_194306.jpg
That now have 56ish workers

•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
Liometopum Occidentale
Wait wait wait wait, so in 2 weeks they go from egg to darkening pupae!??!?! ZTYguy told me they grow fast but I didn't think it would be this fast, my initial goal was to get a really big colony because there isn't at the moment (I think), but I don't think I'll have to wait too long... by the time this is posted they are currently In a mini hearth xl
20220517_194058.jpg
14 workers
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
Tetramorium Immigrans
They are just doing their normal Tetramorium thing-laying tons of eggs-
70 plus workers

Camponotus semitestaceus

They have been laying a lot of eggs, and I have started power-feeding them, there's one really big larvae hidden under the pile that I'm hoping is a major.
20220607_143943.jpg
They have 64-ish workers

•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
Liometopum Occidentale

Mostly all of their pupae of hatched, I have given them a super-worm piece and they decided to turn it all into eggs as they now have 55-ish. I currently have the colony on heat, but I think I might take them off because their growing at an absurd rate.
20220607_135731~2.jpg
20220607_135611.jpg
They have 28 workers
Edit:not sure why the pics upside down
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
Tetramorium immigrans
Nothing much to update, since I'm going to sell them because I don't want two colonies growing at an insane rate.

They have 80-ish workers

•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
Prenolapis Imparis are going to be added to the bunch soon.
