Subterranean termite pairs available! They make for great feeders and are also interesting to keep as colonies if you don't want to feed them to your ants. Their development is initially rather slow, but will pick up the pace after winter. They are listed for cheap and I have plenty of them in stock at the moment.

I believe these can be shipped across state lines, as Reticulitermes hesperus as well as Reticulitermes flavipes have been deregulated throughout the United States. However, please correct me if I am wrong!

Myrmecocystus navajo colony with nearly a hundred workers added! They will come with a Mini Hearth, unless you don't want one and would like to work something out with me regarding that.

Wow, sold out relatively quickly.

Unfortunately not. If you're referring to Lasius flavus, they don't occur anywhere in the US, much less my state of California. We do have similar species in the state, but I doubt I'll any up for sale anytime soon. In the Bay they live in rather difficult places to access.

You know that there is plenty of lasius species in North America, Care wise, the only big difference between the L. flavus group and the L. niger group is the fact that one one them lives under the ground and the other lives above the ground, so at one point choosing lasius is like choosing the colour of your backpack, so don’t be super fixated on getting that one species. If you read some multi species journals on this forum you’ll notice that people settle for ants that are closely related to the species that they are looking for.

Just saying, if you choose a parasitic species of lasius, that is a whole different topic.

Also if I am not mistaken, the lasius sp you are looking for don’t fly until mid June, so I don’t expect you to find any in shops right now…

Currently keeping:

1x Formica subsericea, 20+ workers + a decently sized brood pile (35-40)

1x Crematogaster cerasi 3 workers with brood (been going all winter)
