Species: Iridomermex (unknown, small black iridomermex, workers around 2-3 mm length, monomorphic)
Temperature: 26-35C
Wind: Westerly @ around 5-10 m/s
Rain: Just as rain starts till 3 days after rain
Location: Brisbane and surrounds, QLD Australia
Comments: I have been collecting queens of this species for an entire month and a half (+/- a week) this year. Definitely their mating season. Spring in QLD, just about to go summer. There may be 2 separate species as one seems to be larger than the other going by queen size. More details will be forthcoming. As I haven't seen a queen for a bit over a week, I'm calling this the end of their mating season. Please add to database when you get a chance Drew.
I saw a mating flight of what I'm told is a Nylanderia sp. just three days ago on Nov 21st in Okinawa, Japan.
Date: 21st November
Species: Nylanderia sp.
Temperature: 23-25C
Wind: Westerly @ around 1-2 m/s
Rain: light rain just beginning
Location: Okinawa, Japan
Comments: I noticed that after they mated they all tried to hide inside holes in the concrete, but then crawled out and flew away after the rain got heavier. Very strange.

From some research I did, there are accounts of Dolichoderus mariae from May through late summer, with the bulk leaving the nests through budding/flying in the month of July.

Myrmica sp. having a pseudo-nuptial flight. This video is a few months off schedule and took place during last year's Myrmica nuptial flights during mid September. I meant to post it but I don't think I did.
