Oh
Oh no
I'm back
Yes, I'm sure that's what you all are thinking.
That's definitely what I'm thinking.
So I recently caught a colony of Tapinoma sessile, otherwise known as The Big Stinkies or Other Ruler of the Suburban Household (The other is Camponotus pennsylvanicus). Apparently they like to die. A lot.
There were a lot of red flags walking into this that I ignored. The first one being the fact that they're escape artists. Lo and behold, almost half the colony escaped during moving (don't worry I got them all in). Then, when I was sucking them up, my lungs hurt. They hurt a lot. So I might've forgotten that Tapinoma sessile can produce that acid-kind-of thing, so let's just leave it as my walk home was filled with spittle and coughing. Also they're household pests. Arguably worse than Camponotus I've heard. I've also seen a lot of people here complain about them. Haha, I bet I disappointed a lot of people who clicked on this thinking they were gonna find some cool species like Dolichoderus plagiatus. Get fooled, it was stinky ol' sessile!

Anyways, here are some low quality photos I took of the colony, they're 2 queen 30ish workers by the way:
(I'll insert some later, my computer does not want to work with me today.)
