Ove the weekend I made a start preparing my formicariums, etc after a few years out of the hobby. I will be odering colonies today or tomorrow.

As my bedroom is pretty large in my place, I will be keeping them in a corner of my bedroom that is perfect for them.

Today I realised I did something foolish... I am always careful with what I do around my colonies (in the past) that may affect them. I was spraying anti-perspirant today when I thought "oh no, it will settle over my outworlds and formicarium's I have set up".

I will rinse the ones I can with water, but some are not so easy to rinse with water.

QUESTION: I will not have any colonies at least until mid week. As long as I learn from my stupid mistake and do not spray anymore, is it safe to say what was sprayed and may have settled, will not pose a risk by the time they arrive?

PS: I am very careful with spraying any kind of aerosols in the bedroom or sprays like Febreeze... this was just a silly mistake from an 'out of condition' ant keeper!

Ants are the world’s most numerous and successful animals of all time for a reason. A bit of spray will not change that.

Thank you for reassuring me!

Rinse and let dry for a while and things should be alright.

I will rinse what I can and hope that in 48 hours any residue has evaporated from the rest!

I use antiperspirant sticks.
