You can always upload your photos to the Gallery. That should work just as well.

Indeed, I do believe it is Floridanus. The majors are quite small currently, but I believe that will change as they mature. Also, please excuse the few discolor workers every now and then. I brood boosted in the beginning with the wrong species… I had to because I was at 3 workers left, and larvae were just spinning cocoons. Got a little freaked out and gave them mature discolor or similar species cocoons and it worked out.

You can always upload your photos to the Gallery. That should work just as well.

Might as well keep it here, or is it in the way. If it is in the way I can move it.

Really cool that you boosted across subgenera for Camponotus! I might have to try that out sometime.

I didn’t notice until someone pointed out that one worker has a slightly darker head from “lighting”. I recently tried it again with C. discolor larvae, and we will see if any more discolor(Or related species) hatch! Would be really interesting to find out if they steal each others brood in the wild(When territory overlaps). I use to not want to keep Camponotus due to the egg laying of the queen, (In batches) but these have become one of my favorites of all Florida ants. Gotta love those repletes.

Anyway, here is the photos for today: (Sorry for bad lighting will try to improve in future posts)

Another update: Tracked down what I believe is the brood boosted worker, and found something concerning…

I found a blotch of ant nectar one threw up, but I don’t know which one. Is this normal, or is one dying?

(Discolor worker has the dark head, and let me tell you, his head ain’t reddish)

I can’t help myself but realize it looks like pee in the nest lol.

I just plugged off a tube, and an ant in the outworld barfed up nectar and died D: Stress or disease? Or is this normal for Floridanus….

Just found out C. Floridanus could be a subspecies to C.atriceps, but not confirmed. C. Floridanus already has subspecies like C. Tortoganus… Subspecies of a possible subspecies?

Sounds to me like you should make a journal for the colony.
