I started this thread because for starters... Michigan is basically the best state in the Midwest for ants and two... There's not a lot of Michiganders that I see in this forum so hopefully this may bring Michiganders who have never done ant keeping before or who have done antkeeping right here to Formiculture! Any flights or ants you've observed in Michigan feel free to post!

So far this week I've been finding several things! For starters, Lasius neoniger have begun opening up their nest entrances and Lasius parasite queens I've seen everyday coming out to invade other colonies to rule over. The Lasius parasites I observed this week are Lasius claviger and aphidicola. Also, Prenolepis have flown this week as well as temperatures hit 70 and 67. They were some small flights though or I was late but at least I got 2 queens. Ponera pennsylvanica and Acanthomyops are starting to nest a little under rocks again. Well, that's all I have to share. Stay safe everyone!

I'm in se Michigan, I have a founding colony of prenolepis imparis, large colony of Tapinoma sessile, and a recently caught pavement ant queen. Id love to have a colony of citronella ants and carpenter ants.

If you're asking to buy stuff you should ask instead in the general marketplace section of the website since more people are on there instead of a Michigan based thread.

Wasn't asking to buy anything, just introducing myself, I'm new.
