Test tube cleaning

Hey everyone so I just received my pogonomyrmex and there water cotton if super dirty with seeds and stuff. Should I clean off the cotton or just let them clean it off?fe911c3c9932cea011f87b366f48bbc0.jpg

I think you should just move them to a new replica of that test tube.

Yeah I’d move them to a new tube. That test tube is way too far gone to clean while the colony is still in there.

Use the nest. The fact that all the water is gone means you should move them out as soon as possible.

I'd move the harvester ants (I assume this is Pogonomyrmex rugosus) into the new nest.
