I had received a 70-worker colony from a friend of mine on 2/3/22. They had given me the colony because they had way too many colonies of Acromyrmex and needed to get rid of them for the next season. I had also gotten them for free besides shipping. very happy that I got these guys. When I first got the colony, their fungus was a bit messed up from shipping since they were being shipped all the way from SoCal to NorCal. They didn't have a whole lot of brood at the time as well. But now they have tons of pupae, larvae and eggs. I got 3 small packets of rose petals, clovers and fish pellets with them also. They look to be at nearly 80 workers now and haven't stopped growing. The fungus is growing very well, and the fungus has been consuming lots of petals. I have a Camellia japonica tree in my front yard, and it has flower blooming right now. I decided to get some and try to see if they would accept it. I had washed it all off to get rid of stuff on it that could kill the Acromyrmex. I than put it in the oven to dry and kill anything else that survived. After it was done, I put a small amount in the outworld. As soon as I put it in some workers found it and brought it back to the nest. They also had the other pile of rose petals. They collected that whole pile of petals within an hour and gave it to the fungus. The fungus was bigger the next day when I checked on them. The colony has one queen and 70-80 workers currently and are doing great. Pics of them below.
