Greetings!
I recently caught a D. bureni queen,(Will post pictures to confirm ID) and I have skimmed through enderAnts journal, is there anything I should know? I found this queen with wings, so I put her with a male(probably didn’t mate with him) and she removed her wings the next day. I have her wings still, as I don’t know if she will use them as a source of protein, as army ants will use the queens suitor male’s wings for the brood…(Or so I heard). The last queen I found in the wild had 2 wings off with her, the others gone. Did these blow away?
Also, what is up with the gaster? Should I be concerned? Is this sperm or eggs? Is this a normal look?
Sorry about the questions and/or grammatical or spelling errors,
And thanks!
(I can’t really use my macrolense because I already stashed her away)
