Good Evening,
I wonder if you could please help. My young son has had a simple ant farm for a few months, with a Queen black garden ant and workers. They had been in hibernation for a couple of months I think, but unfortunately the farm got knocked over, and a few of the tunnels have collapsed. Since then, the colony have moved themselves to the feeding pot and have now been there a couple of weeks. There don’t seem to be any left in the actual ant farm. Is there any reason for them doing this? Is there any way I can encourage them back?
Thank you for reading and for any help.

Could you give us a bit more detail about what type of setup you have?  Maybe some pictures too?

Yeah pictures would really help. I have a feeling this may be a gel farm…

If the tunnels collapsed it is likely a sand ant farm.

Thank you everyone for replying. It is a sand farm, but I’ve added more water and they seem to be much happier and have all returned. Thank you again
