Hey, just curious about your Myrmoteras bingahmii colony. Do they sometimes also just throw out random cocoons in your outworld and just leave it there? My colony had 3 cocoons and 2 of them were thrown out and eaten by the springtails and dwarf isopods (they usually eat decaying stuff, that's why I assume that the cocoons are dead). I keep them in a tropical terrarium in a test tube which has high humidity and warmer temperature.

Hope that you can still answer my questions because it's pretty concerning to me. There is very little information about these little ants on the internet  :D

And of course, Good luck on your exams!

When I kept them in a test tube before they showed similar behavior of putting cocoons in the trash area. One day I was cleaning the area and threw away all the cocoons thinking that they were dead. However when I open one I see the pupa inside is still white and has blood coming out which meant that they just put it there for storage... After moving them to plaster nests they never have the same behavior again.
The ones your colony throw out are probably dead cocoons. Also I want to note these ants seem to dislike high temperature. When I stored them in a warm box which gives 28C temp they did worse compared to when I gave them room temp (24~25C)

Shame that I cannot tell you more as my colony has passed away. Good Luck with your colony.  (y)
