Those of us that keep Atta or Acromyrmex or Trachymyrmex are all located in areas where they are native. Afaik getting a permit for a leafcutter ant species is near impossible, but it is fairly easy for most other types of ants. Also, you assume that we would all do the same thing in your situation. No, I killed my ants when I moved. Finally, no one was trying to be mean to you, they were just making you aware that what you are doing is illegal and can have consequences if you are found out. I suppose they could have done it more nicely.

I am not talking to the people who just jumped in. I am talking about the people who litterly just trashed the journal.

Well I've checked the antscanada forum and it sucks. I'll stay here. I will make a new journal in my black crazy ant colony so when people want a update they don't have to scroll through a bunch of nonsense. And please don't trash the other journal in my black crazy ant colony. And I am taking them back to New York which is in USA. I will not let them go. Also very sorry for the rude posts.

Nothing you said applies to them. I also just remembered that AntsEmporium is selling leafcutters over state borders (they have permits, they send copies in their shipments), so if someone in a cold place ends up with a colony that is likely the reason. AntsEmporium does have some ants that you may be interested in that they can ship to your state, assuming you don't want to go the illegal route anymore.

Well I guess it's too late to change your mind. Good luck with the colony.

In what universe is Tetramorium slow growing??

Well, it's been slightly over a month and my Tetramorium cf bicarinatum queen hasn't had workers yet, the pupae haven't even turned darker yet.

well bicarinatum and the other semi claustral Tetramorium are definitely slower growing than fully claustral ones like immigrans. However, with multiple queens bicarinatum should grow much faster.

Actually it’s still a figurative trash bin.
