Welcome to my journal Of Some polygunus Camponotus. Backstory is i wanted a Established colony With like 40 workers so I bought A Large polygunus camponotus colony after like a month they exploded now A JOURNAL
Week 1 of journal
The nest is all Sandy but they are fine!
I do not have any more Pics Right now so its all for now!

Actually. I'm not sure if they're vicinus anymore. The majors and super majors look weird. I'm still going to leave my vicinus suggestion though.

Looks like a Myrmentoma species to me.
Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.
However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:
Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

Looks like a Myrmentoma species to me.
Looking at them know I don't know what to think

So on tuesday my Camponotus randomly moved to the smaller nest and the tubing Because my niece flooded the nest! Also I prettied up the outworld also sorry for ugly picture

These are definitely from the Myrmentoma subgenus. C. vicinus is from the Tanaemyrmex subgenus, whose workers are noticeably less compact, and have longer, more spindly limbs and antennae.

I can say as well after observing some of my old vicinus pictures that it is NOT vicinus. As others have said, it is of the Myrmentoma subgenus. It'll be hard to get down to species level though.
