Does pheidole hyatti hibernate?
They exist at a wide range of elevations, and in the mountains they do hibernate. However, they do not require it in captivity. So the simple answer is no.
It okay that I do hibernate them?
If they hibernate in the area where they were collected then yeah, probably, but also... why? why hibernate an ant that doesn't require it
Mostly because I just need a break from my colonies for a month or two.
People need breaks sometimes. If they hibernate in the area where they were collected then yeah, probably, but also... why? why hibernate an ant that doesn't require it
