To help with climbing, you can pull out the rubber tube and scratch up the plaster a bit. Needle nose pliers will do the trick.

I've also heard of people putting a small piece of string or twine to help with this. Mine seem to do fine with whatever brand tubing Mack uses.

Jeez. Why did they take so many seeds in? My occidentalis hesitate to take 6 quartered whole sunflower seeds into their test tube.

Because they love chia and dandelion seeds. Those are the main diet for both my colonies.

Added a q-tip with the ends cut off to help these ladies climb out if they need. Brood piles are starting to get impressive, and we have new workers.

This colony should be big enough to move soon. Just waiting to move another colony out of a fallen fortress first.
