I don't feel like going to the pet store and getting springtails so I was wondering how I could just catch some in my backyard (nuptial flight here has long been over so I'm not doing anything much outside anymore and I need springtails...so why not).

You can probably find some in darker moist spots, like near/under rotting wood or logs or by or under rocks.  Or you could just hit up ANTdrew like I did and he could ship you some for a low price... (if he is still selling them.)

Yes, I am still selling them. You can easily find your own under rocks, rotting leaves, or in compost piles. Damp areas will be best, but they’re basically everywhere.
