Their sting... It's bad. Like, really bad. Definitely stronger then Solenopsis in my opinion. To make matters worse, it lasts quite a while as well. Afterwards, it itches. Always wondered why they were so common in those Uncle Milton ant farm kits.
When they bite, you don't really feel a thing. They just grasp on with their mandibles and swing around. It's quite funny.
EDIT:
I'd like to add that it differs on the species. P. maricopa stings hurt like hell, whereas P. rugosus stings are more mild, but last longer and itch more.
