Will an injured queen still survive and found a colony?

I caught a Crematogaster queen and while on the car, she got her head stuck in the wet cotton and since I didn't bring tweezers, I had to use my finger to get her out and accidentally injured her gaster, will she still found a colony? And is there anything I can do to save her?

Sorry to hear that  :( 
As far as I know exoskeleton can't be replaced/heal on ants, so unfortunately, she will probably die.

As far as I know exoskeleton can't be replaced/heal on ants, so unfortunately, she will probably die.

I see, I guess there's nothing I can do to save her. If she dies I will preserve her for remembrance.

I see, I guess there's nothing I can do to save her. If she dies I will preserve her for remembrance.

I have a Tetramorium queen with only 1 leg, and she's made one of the fastest growing colonies I have. Like Antkeeper01 said, it depends on how badly she was injured.

Yea that's true but I mean like if the gaster has been damaged would she be able to lay eggs?

I have a Liometopum occidentale queen with a mildly dented gaster. She is completely fine and lays eggs at the rate that this genus is known for. The injury could be fatal, could slow down your queen or could have no impact. The only way to know is to take good care of her and wait.

She might be fine, just treat her normally and wait, it might be nothing after all, I thought the injury on the gaster was like on the end in the place she lays the eggs.
