Yeah, the picture is gone
The pilosula is down to six larvae
but, on a happier note, I got a colony of Odontomachus ruficeps!!! I'll be including them here.
THE PILOSULA QUEEN HAS A PUPAE!
I've been told not to bother her at all or she'll destroy it. does anyone know how long it'll take to eclose? also what's the chance it pupates incorrectly and dies?
also some odontomachus pictures
aaAAAAAaaa so jealous of that Odontomachus... ruficeps is more of a desert species, isn't it? I'll have to keep an eye out when I go on my quest for M. bagoti this year. :B
My Ants:
Colonies: Camponotus humilior 1w, Opisthopsis rufithorax 11w, Aphaenogaster longiceps ~5w, Pheidole sp. ~235w ~15m, Iridomyrmex sp. 2q 1w, Brachyponera lutea 6w, Crematogaster sp. ~20w, Podomyrma sp. 1w
Queens: Polyrhachis cf. robinsoni, Polyrhachis (Campomyrma) sp. (likely infertile)
Previously Kept: Colobopsis gasseri, Technomyrmex sp., Rhytidoponera victorae, Nylanderia cf. rosae, Myrmecia brevinoda/forficata, Polyrhachis australis, Solenopsis/Monomorium
Key: Q = Queen, W = Worker, M = Major

Yes, I think they are! These are from the Northern territory.

thanks, hopefully it works out! I think the stress of moving them may have contributed to the brood die off.
Well, we are down to one larvae I moved the odontomachus onto an aus ants acrylic founding nest as they made a huge mess the atom c, but they made another mess in the acrylic nest.
Oh no! Only advice I can give you is fairly obvious, but protein, protein, protein. Really hope they make it.

the odontomachus have had a pupa eclose, they seem to be settling in well.
So far, no changes. The odontomachus have two more workers, but that's it. how long do myrmecia pupae take to eclose?
congrats!!!!
