What I typically do is try and make it as uncomfortable as possible in the place you don't want them to be in. So tear apart their log/stick thing they are nesting in, slowly though so you don't hurt the colony, and try to take out any big pieces of debris they might have in their outworld so they can't hide under them. Then try to make the place you do want them to move into nice and cozy. The reason they probably don't want to move is because even though you gave them a better place to stay than their current nest, it still smells like home, so your gonna just have to make it really uncomfortable and they should move. And also you might want to cut the tubing from their outworld to their formicarium a bit if possible, otherwise they might want to nest in there. Because as ANTdrew says, ants NEVER do what you want them to.
Yeah I went in and started slowly removing any lose debris or large chunks I could tonight. I will swap to a super short tube tomorrow and make the move easier. It was fun watching them move food between habitats but at this point they arent big enough for two and should use this one. Ill give it a go and update once progress has been made. Thanks
Also, I want to note I probably have the wrong ID on these. I will update this post name once I have some good pictures and a proper ID.
