Do you ever just stick your larvae in a drop of sugar water? Assuming of course that you are a P. Occidentalis queen. I've seen this happen twice now and was wondering if anyone else has seen this? I especially thought larvae just ate protein.
I give me founding queens a drop a sugar water every other day and 2 different queens have placed their larvae in the drop I put on the wall of their enclosure.

Those are some sweet parental skills!

All the other queens around must be saying: "Your kids are so sweet!"

I’m pretty sure they will sometimes feed the larvae sugars as well. I remember seeing journals on here where the ants were fed colored sugar water and it could be seen inside larvae.

Yea that is true. I see it all the time with my ants. I use all sorts of colors like green, blue pink and more
