2. Date of collection:  6-28-2015.
3. Habitat of collection:  Chaparral/Oak forest.
4. Length (from head to gaster):  3.5 mm.
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture:  All yellow.
6. Distinguishing characteristics:
7. Anything else distinctive:

I'm pretty sure this is Camponotus, and I think probably C. fragilis, because I have found them in this area before around this time of the year. It could also be C. absquatulator, as I'm pretty sure I found one of those workers once in the same place I was that night. I'm just not sure how to tell the two apart by looking at the males; males are generally pretty useless when it comes to IDing Camponotus.

I'v never seen a Camponotus male.

Could it be C. festinatus? I know that species is really close to C. fragilis, and when they flew here, the males looked quite similar. That species complex is a pain to ID though. I only knew the ID of the ones around here because as far as I know, we don't have C. fragilis this far east...
