Incisitermes minor, most likely.

How did you learn to ID so many species? Are you an Entomologist?

They're the only termites in California whose reproductives have red heads, so they're pretty easy to identify.

there were tons of these everywhere and I caught two I was thinking a termite

They flew here recently? Interesting. In the Sierra Nevadas they flew months ago, so a little odd they would fly later here. Maybe it has to do with wood here being the driest out of any part of the year from now until winter when it starts raining.

They may not have gone far. Try to think like a horny pair of termites. You're going to look for a dark moist wooden place. I hope you can find them.

I like to make relaxing videos that capture the joy of watching ants.

Well I have a pretty good memory, and I spend, and have spent, many, many hours on here and the internet in general researching ants and termites, and as someone who has found this species before, I can recognize them.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).
