First update:
Last night I caught a few of these queens…*33 on my pool cover. I felt okay with the collecting this many queens because they would have been fried the next day. I smushed a few by accident which was inevitable when leaning over a pool trying not to fall in. I probably could have caught 50 of these if I had an aspirator because they are such a pain to catch. I put 25 in one tube and 8 in another. This morning I caught another 8 queens from the morning flights. I also saved some from drowning in puddles. This is either a really bad idea or will be an epic super colony.

They’re really easy to find with a blacklight.

Update: (on the 27 queen colony)
We have eggs! Not too many though they likely started laying yesterday. Sorry for the horrible photo their so small! Also caught 20+ brachymyrmex depilis queens :D which I’m not sure if I’ll include in this journal (1st photo) . They are even smaller then the selonopis molesta so I’m going to have a heck of a time getting good photos!

These queens aren’t the original 20+ queen colony but newer ones I caught a few days ago. These here are going to ants Maryland but I wanted to show the amount of eggs laid in 5 days since capture
