Lasius latipes! My favourite species not going to lie. Characteristic large front legs and crimson colour.

3. Habitat of collection: Suburban
4. Length (from head to gaster): 11 mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Orang - red, shiny
6. Distinguishing characteristics: Very long, thick legs, one petiole node
7. Distinguishing behavior: Has a hard time walking in a test tube
8. Nest description: N/A
9. Nuptial flight time and date: August 20, 8:00 PM

It is, other people in the Massachusetts server mentioned that they've been flying for a while now

I wish I could start one this year but I don’t have any lasius neoniger brood or workers so I released her. Hopefully next year the Lasius neoniger colony I just started grows and I can use workers from that colony as a host!

Lasius latipes, as Chickalo noted. They parasitize L. neoniger, L. crypticus, L. americanus and L. interjectus.
