NY State Vacation Locations for tired husband and ant loving wife.

My husband wants to "stay right on a lake" possibly "someplace upstate" and that could be airBnB or a real bed and breakfast. I don't think he cares about swimming. Finger lakes? Great lakes? I want to wander around in some woods (I'm from NYC so I'm easy to impress when it come to "nature") and take photos of ants and other insects.

What is a good town to visit in the next two weeks? Any suggestions? I don't know upstate very well.

Starting this July I'm posting videos of my ants every week on youTube.

I like to make relaxing videos that capture the joy of watching ants.
