May 25, 2020: Creating my first natural setup
I caught 18 Brachymyrmex patagonicus queens this night, more than what I decide to usually catch. I put 5 in one test tube, 10 in another, 2 in one test tube, and 1 in one of these setups to document how they make a claustral chamber. I plan to do this with other species too, to see any differences, and how well they do compared to test tube setups. I really want to try this out with Pheidole queens, because all of the queens I had caught never make it past the egg stage. I'm also recording a video for this, maybe it will be in parts or one full video. You'll have to wait and see 
May 26, 2020: Larger Setup w/ more queens
The next night, I caught 38 queens (definitely the most i've caught ever in one night) I put maybe 15 in one test tube, 13 in another or something to make some more super-colonies, and three 3-queen colonies. Then I made this setup, with more substrate, and 3 queens to see if they would combine later on. The next day, they made their chambers close to one another. They didn't dig all the way to the bottom, and were close to the surface. Really excited to see how this turns out.
