I'd like to have this journal already running because today I'm going to the mountains to see if I find any Polyergus and Formica and of course take photographs. If I catch anything I will update you guys with what I catch. And if I catch Polyergus Mexicanus? Well then you guys will be able to watch some Polyergus Mexicanus raiding and watching the grow!

Don't worry. I will somehow get them. Just not illegally as I've said before since I think doing things illegally is a awful thing for the ants and environment.

i think your chances are gone sadly. The best time to find colonies of formica and polyergus is in early spring when the queens are heating up near the surface. You will most likely have to wait for their nuptial flights in august.

You all doubted me! But I have proven you all wrong! I have found a Polyergus Mexicanus queen today with tons of brood and 27-30 Formica Pozolica workers! I will post a picture most likely later tonight when they go in a test tube. Until then, stay safe!

She lays on her side a lot. But, according to my friend that happens with other parasitic workers so I guess that's fine.

I custom make formicarium now so i'll make like a chambered discus nest.

CheetoLord02 Actually found some polyergus topoffi a few weeks ago and someone found a polyergus mexicanus queen in a mountainous part of AZ.

The biggest thing is that AZ climate is much different to Canada climate. In AZ the mountains near Tucson are kind of warm all the time and have a good amount of records of Polyergus Mexicanus.

Civil war has now broken out in the tube! the formica workers are battling for the pupae of where to place them! The poor workers have to drag all the pupae from the outworld constantly. I feel bad. But I bet the queen will put things in order.
