Indifferent to yellow jackets because they don't hurt that much for me. I'd put a Pogonomyrmex sting over a yellow jacket sting personally. I'd say the ants i've stung by were worse than wasps especially considering the size difference.

I know some ants are worse in terms of sting but in my country idk any species of ant that sting like a wasp or worse that's why I said that

Do you guys have manica rubida in greece? Never been stung by rubida, but i've been stung by a smaller manica species and I'd say its nearly as bad as pogonomyrmex, not much initial oomph, but a much more persistant throb.

According to ant wiki we have, is this manica rubida?
I found it in a park close to my home in 2018 (perhaps is still there a colony)

Sorry if its off topic!

Personally I don't really "hate" wasps, just if one gets close to me I am getting out of there.

Greek Ants, that is an Aphaenogaster sp. They do not sting to my knowledge.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

I don’t like seeing honey bees. They’re invasive. I also hate wasps. They still sting you if you’re doing nothing and nowhere near the nest. In my experience, you can go very close to say a Pogonomyrmex nest or some other sp, but you can’t come anywhere near a wasp nest unless u want to get stung the [censored] out of.
