Those formicarium look amazingly good. Do we need PC to access files ?

it seems like someone changed his mind of sharing DIY guides .

Probably just a issue with the file itself

I stand corrected, he received a cease and desist from a certain nest making company scared of losing business.

If you need a guide asap, I wrote one as well, it's no where near as good as his but it should be enough to get the basic gist of the idea

That kind of C&D is nothing but bluster, I hope the relevant parties know that.

As a general rule their only use is announcing that the sender is a dick and hopes the recipient is clueless. But in this particular case they could not be more completely unenforceable, you may as well lay claim to the arts and crafts table at the bible camp down the street.

Every pottery class in the country is breaking super secret techniques if a process like this were patentable. Which it isn't.

(Which psst is why that company hasn't even tried to actually patent it.)

Much as I love their products their time and reputation would really really be better spent [censored] off in this case.

*edit* I know this comes off harsh but I stand by it. This is pretty inarguable C&D abuse and the fact that it's so common in this country doesn't make it better. The brand involved would never dare waste a cent on pursuing this in actual court because they know most judges wouldn't even allow the case to proceed once they heard "uh we don't have a patent but still want to lay legal claim to using sand to shape liquid moulds otherwise known as one of the most ancient casting techniques in human history, oh and also buying Hot Wheels containers and magnets. Because this time it's for ants, your honor." *edit edit* I forgot, "Oh also melting metal screens to plastic in skillets which we swear we did not learn while making uh recreational devices out of plastic pretzel kegs in our mom's garage in the 90s—but also do not have a patent on, obviously."

The brand involved needs to stop trying to act like a mega-conglomerate trying to bully people out of exploring their own hobby. Not least of which because it is, again, purely a performance that would fall apart at the first actual test, and they know it.

They spend the entire year catching up with orders anyway, it's absurd to act like there's life and death business on the line because a handful of people will experiment with making their own (likely less successful and certainly less polished) DIY versions.

My advice to them: Get a hobby if you're bored and have some cash to burn, not a lawyer.  :*

Not that I don’t want to share. Someone is preventing me from sharing.

I don’t think they have claim over anything. They don’t own any registered patent or copyright. Just trying bully individuals who don’t have as much time and money to take them to court.

It looks like someone re-posted them if I recall the guides correctly?
